Technical Specification of Children Mask
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and specifications,
technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, safety
warnings, storage and transportation of children mask (hereinafter referred to as mask).
This Standard is applicable to the masks worn by children 6 years old and above, 14
years old and below to filter particulate matter in the air, blocking microorganisms,
pollen, spray, etc.
This Standard is not applicable to mask containing electric air supply (exhaust) device.

The resistance value of the airflow that penetrates through the mask body under
specified conditions.
NOTE: Its unit is Pa.
4 Classification and Specifications
4.1 Classification
According to the performance of masks, children masks are divided into child
protective mask (F) and child hygiene mask (W).
4.2 Specifications
According to the size of head and face of children at different ages, children masks are
divided into small (S), medium (M) and large (L).
5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Basic requirements
5.1.1 The mask shall be able to cover the mouth, nose and jaw safely and firmly without
odor, and shall not significantly affect the visual field.
5.1.2 The raw materials of the mask shall not use recycled materials; materials known
to cause skin irritation or other adverse reactions shall not use; and the materials shall
not undergo chlorine bleaching treatment. The residual amount of other restricted
substances shall meet the relevant requirements. The used materials shall ensure that
the mask does not break or deform during its normal service life.
NOTE: The mask supplier should be able to prove that its material meets such requirements.
It may prove that the textile material used in the mask meets the requirements of category 4.2A
in GB 31701-2015 by accepting inspection or providing a test report.
5.1.3 Masks shall not use tie-on mask; and adjustable mask straps should be used.
5.1.4 The mask shall be easy to wear and take off; there shall be no obvious feeling of
pressure or tenderness during wearing; and there shall be no obvious effect on the
head movement.
5.1.5 For masks equipped with nose clips, the nose clips shall be made of plastic
material.
5.1.6 For masks equipped with a breathing valve, the parts inside the breathing valve
6.6 Migratable optical brightener
It shall be implemented according to FZ/T 01137; cut the sample at the contact layer
between the mask and human face.
6.7 Residue of ethylene oxide
It shall be implemented according to the provisions of Clause 9 in GB/T 14233.1-2008.
Take a parallel sample to test; the sample is cut from the mask body. If the one test
result is qualified and the other is unqualified, the average calculation shall not be
performed. The sample shall be re-taken, and the highest value shall be used as the
test result. The result calculation is expressed by relative content, and retain one digit
after the decimal point.
6.8 Nose clip length
Take 3 samples for testing; measure by general or special measuring tools with
accuracy of 0.1cm.
6.9 Folding resistance of nose clip
Take 2 samples. Take the middle of the nose clip as the test point; fold the nose clip in
half for 20 times with hands or other suitable instruments.
NOTE: For the convenience of testing, the nose clip and the surrounding covering may be cut
off from the mask.
6.10 Breaking strength of mask strap, and the connection between mask strap
and body
It shall be implemented according to the provisions of 6.9 in GB/T 32610-2016.
6.11 Inhalation resistance
It shall be implemented according to the provisions of 6.7 in GB/T 32610-2016. The
test flow rate is (45±2) L/min; and the size of the head mold shall meet the requirements
of Appendix A.
6.12 Exhalation resistance
It shall be implemented according to the provisions of 6.8 in GB/T 32610-2016. The
test flow rate is (45±2) L/min; and the size of the head mold shall meet the requirements
of Appendix A.
6.13 Particle protective performance
It shall be implemented according to the provisions of Appendix B in GB/T 32610-2016.
7 Inspection Rules
7.1 Sampling
Products with the same variety and the same specification (model) according to the
delivery batch number are regarded as inspection batches. Random samples are
taken from each inspection batch according to the test requirements; and the number
of the samples must at least meet the requirements of each individual test specified in
Clause 6. When the delivery quantity of the same delivery batch of child hygiene masks
is greater than 500,000, and the delivery quantity of the same delivery batch of child
protective masks is greater than 100,000, the sampling quantity shall be doubled.
7.2 Quality judgment
7.2.1 Appearance quality judgment
The appearance quality is tested according to 6.1; and at least 8 or more samples
meet the requirements of 5.2. If the requirements of 5.2 are met, then it shall be judged
to be qualified; otherwise, it is judged to be unqualified.
7.2.2 Intrinsic quality judgment
If the intrinsic quality meets the requirements of 5.3, it shall be judged to be qualified;
otherwise it is judged to be unqualified.
7.2.3 Results judgment
If the appearance quality and the intrinsic quality are all qualified, the batch of products
shall be judged to be qualified; otherwise the batch of products is judged to be
unqualified.
8 Packaging, Marking, Safety Warnings, Storage and
Transportation
8.1 Packaging
The mask shall be sealed and packaged for easy access and avoid contamination
before use.
8.2 Marking
The minimum sales package shall have the qualified mark of inspection; and the
obvious parts shall be attached with a clear and identifiable mark. The mark shall
include but not limited to the following contents:
a) Name and address of the manufacturer;
b) Product name and category [including the words "children protective mask (F)"
or "children hygiene mask (W)"];
c) Product specifications [small (S), medium (M), large (L)];
d) Main raw materials;
e) Executive standard number;
f) Instructions for use (wearing method, safety warning, etc.);
g) Production date, shelf life, recommended use time (hours);
h) If disinfection is adopted, the disinfection method shall be indicated.
8.3 Safety warning
The minimum sales package or instruction manual of the mask shall include but not
limited to the following warnings:
a) Children with breathing difficulties are not recommended to wear a mask. If they
need to wear it, they shall follow the doctor's advice or wear other suitable
respiratory protective equipment.
b) When using it, remove the mask packaging materials and other objects not
related to the mask wearing in time.
c) Children shall wear masks under the care of adults; and caregivers shall observe
and educate children to wear masks correctly. Children shall not fight in jest or
for fun or engage in moderate and above-intensity exercise while wearing the
mask; and shall not disassemble the breathing valve and the parts inside the
breathing valve. If symptoms such as respiratory discomfort and skin allergies
occur during wearing, the mask shall be removed in time; if necessary,
immediately see a doctor.
d) The mask shall be kept dry, avoid getting wet during use; and replace it in time if
necessary.
e) Masks are not recommended to be reused after washing.
f) The used masks shall not be exchanged with others.
8.4 Storage and transportation
During storage and transportation, the product shall be sealed, not damaged, stained,
or damp, pay attention to fire, rain, acid, alkali, and avoid directly exposing to strong
