1 Scope
This Standard specifies the principle, sample preparation, test methods (Method A,
Method B and Method C) and test report of the determination of cold resistance of
artificial leather, synthetic leather and its manufactured products.
This Standard is applicable to the determination of cold resistance of artificial leather,
synthetic leather and its manufactured products.

The following documents are indispensable to the application of this document. In
terms of references with a specified date, only versions with a specified date are

3 Principle
At a lot temperature, use a load of certain energy and speed to impact the compressed
sample, so as to determine whether it meets the requirements for use at low
temperature.
4 Sample Preparation
4.1 Requirements
The surface of the samples shall be free of detects that would affect material properties
and case deviations in the determination. The samples shall be evenly distributed and
cut within the breadth range of the whole product. The number of samples: Method A:
respectively take three samples in each horizontal and longitudinal direction; Method
B and Method C: respectively take three samples.
4.2 Conditioning
In accordance with the requirements of GB/T 2918-2018, at a temperature of (23 ±
2) °C and a relative humidity of (50 ± 10) %, conduct sample conditioning for not less
than 24 h.
5 Test Methods
5.1 Method A
5.1.1 Sample size
Sample size: length: (60 ± 1) mm; width: (20 ± 1) mm.
5.1.2 Test equipment
Low-temperature impact test device (see Figure 1) shall satisfy the following
requirements:
a) The mass of hammer: (2,500 ± 10) g; the impact height of hammer (50 ± 1)
mm;
b) Maintain the bottom surface of the hammer head parallel to the surface of the
impact platform;
c) Parts (including Part 7, Part 8 and Part 9 in Figure 1) of the sample clamping
device can be detached;
d) The constant-temperature precision of the low-temperature bath satisfies ±
1 °C; the low-temperature limit satisfies the operating requirement of -30 °C.
