1 Scope
This standard specifies the designations, sizes and weights, technical
requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, markings, quality
certificates of Fe-Cr-Al wire and fiber for automotive purification filter.
This standard applies to Fe-Cr-Al wire and fiber materials for metal fiber felts of
diesel engine exhaust particulate filter (DPF). It also applies to Fe-Cr-Al wire
and fiber materials for metal fiber felts or woven meshes in the chemical,
petroleum, gas industries (hereinafter referred to as wire and fiber).

Bundle drawing
A processing method of wrapping multiple wires into a metal sleeve while
drawing through a die hole, then removing the sleeve layer to obtain a core
wire.

Processing method of drawing a single wire through a die hole to a desired
wire diameter.

Monofilament axial
A state where a single metal wire is wound around a reel.
3.6
Multi-strand bundle
A state where plurality of metal fibers form a bundle wound around a reel.

Breaking strength force
Breaking force when fiber filaments are stretched.
3.8
Oxidative gain value
The increase in the unit oxidation weight of a metal at high temperatures.
4 Order content
A contract or order placed under this standard shall include the following:
a) This standard number;
analysis are performed according to the provisions of GB/T 11261 and GB/T
20124; the arbitration analysis is performed in accordance with the provisions
of GB/T 223.5, GB/T 223.8, GB/T 223.11, GB/T 223.17, GB/T 223.19, GB/T
223.30, GB/T 223.33, GB/T 223.37, GB/T 223.40, GB/T 223.49, GB/T 223.59,
GB/T 223.64, GB/T 223.85, GB/T 223.86, GB/T 11261, GB/T 20125.
7.2.2 Fiber
The chemical composition analysis and sampling of the fiber shall be conducted
in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 20066. The chemical composition
analysis of the fiber is carried out according to the specifications of YS/T 904.1
~ 904.5 series standards.
7.3 Mechanical properties
7.3.1 Wire
Cut a segment of wire from the end of the wire where it is more than 300 mm.
The test method is performed in accordance with GB/T 228.1.
7.3.2 Fiber
Cut a segment of fiber from the end of the fiber where it is more than 300 mm.
Use a monofilament strength tester which has a range of 100 cN to clamp it
individually. Perform testing at the clamping length of 20 mm and the tensile
rate of 10 mm/min. 30 pieces form a group. Take the average value, to obtain
the breaking strength force and elongation at break of the fiber.
7.4 Resistivity
The method of measuring the electrical resistivity of the wire is performed in
accordance with GB/T 6146.
7.5 Antioxidation test
The test method for the oxidation resistance of the fiber is carried out in
accordance with GB/T 13303.
7.6 Grain size
The grain size testing shall be carried out in accordance with GB/T 6394.
7.7 Surface quality
The surface quality of the fibers and wires are checked visually. If necessary,
the fiber can be inspected by a magnifying glass larger than 10 times.

8.2.1.3 When the type inspection is carried out according to the provisions of
Table 9, if a certain inspection fails, the axial wire or fiber is judged as
unqualified. It is allowed to cut the double number of samples from the untested
fibers and wires for re-inspection. If one of the re-inspection results fails, the
type inspection will not pass.
8.2.2 Exit-factory inspection
8.2.2.1 Group-batching rules
8.2.2.1.1 Wire shall be inspected and accepted in batches. Each batch consists
of wires of the same designation, the same furnace number, the same
specification, the same state.
8.2.2.1.2 The fiber shall be inspected and accepted in batches. The group-
batching rules shall be determined by the supplier and the purchaser through
consultation.
8.2.2.2 Sampling location and quantity
The sampling quantity and sampling location of each batch of fiber and wire
shall meet the requirements of Table 9.
8.2.2.3 Reinspection and determination rules
If one of the wire or fiber inspection results fails, the axial is judged as
unqualified. It is allowed to take double number of samples from the batch of
untested fibers and wire axial to retest the unqualified items. If the retest results
are still unsatisfactory, the batch of wires or fibers is deemed unqualified.
However, it is allowed to inspect the unqualified wire or fiber from axis to axis;
the qualified ones will be delivered.
9 Packaging, marking and quality certificate
9.1 The wire is wrapped by a plastic shaft; it is packaged by a moisture-proof
heat shrinkable film. The marking and quality certificate shall comply with the
provisions of YB/T 5242.
9.2 The fiber shall be packed in double-layer plastic bags or paper core rolls,
plus moisture-proof heat shrinkable film packaging. The fiber bundle is wound
