5.6 Determination of the test result
5.6.1 When the chemical composition of any sample is unqualified, if the melting
order of the bar can be distinguished, judge the melting order that is
represented by the sample as unqualified; inspect other melting orders in turn,
and deliver the qualified ones. If the melting order cannot be distinguished,
judge the batch as unqualified.
5.6.2 When the dimensional deviation of any sample is unqualified, judge the
batch of bars as unqualified; however, it is allowed to inspect one by one, and
deliver the qualified ones.
5.6.3 When the tensile mechanical properties at room temperature of any
sample are unqualified, take double the number of samples from the batch (or
heat treatment furnace) of bars to perform repeated tests; if the repeated test
results are all qualified, judge the batch (or heat treatment furnace) of bars to
be qualified. If the sample properties are still unqualified in the repeated test
result, then, judge the batch (or heat treatment furnace) of bars to be unqualified.
The supplier is allowed to inspect the products one by one and deliver those
qualified ones. The supplier is also allowed to re-sample after another heat
treatment to inspect the tensile mechanical properties at room temperature,
Brinell hardness, conductivity and microstructure.
5.6.4 When the Brinell hardness of any sample is unqualified, take double the
number of samples from the batch (or heat treatment furnace) of bars to perform
repeated tests; if the repeated test results are all qualified, judge the batch (or
heat treatment furnace) of bars to be qualified. If the sample properties are still
unqualified in the repeated test result, then, judge the batch (or heat treatment
furnace) of bars to be unqualified. The supplier is allowed to inspect the
products one by one and deliver those qualified ones. The supplier is also
allowed to re-sample after another heat treatment to inspect the tensile
mechanical properties at room temperature, Brinell hardness, conductivity and
microstructure.
Number per batch or per furnace piece Sampling quantity piece
5.6.5 When the conductivity of any sample is unqualified, judge the batch (or
heat treatment furnace) of bars as unqualified; however, it is allowed to inspect
one by one, and deliver the qualified ones. The supplier is also allowed to re-
sample after another heat treatment to inspect the tensile mechanical
properties at room temperature, Brinell hardness, conductivity and
microstructure.
5.6.6 When the low-magnification organization of any sample is unqualified,
judge as follows:
a) If it is unqualified because of metallurgical defects such as cracks, bright
grains, non-metallic inclusions, foreign metal inclusions, white spots,
primary crystals and oxide film, judge the batch of bars to be unqualified.
b) If it is unqualified because of layering and shrinkage, it is allowed to cut a
portion from the extrusion end of the bar for repeated test until it is qualified;
then, other bars of the batch shall be tailed according to the maximum
length of the above defect distribution of the tested bar OR inspected one
by one; deliver the qualified ones.
5.6.7 When the microstructure of any sample is unqualified, judge the batch (or
heat treatment furnace) of bars to be unqualified.
5.6.8 When the appearance quality of any sample is unqualified, judge the bar
to be unqualified. However, it is allowed to cut the unqualified part for re-
inspection and deliver the qualified ones.
