Aluminium alloy strips for armored cable
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules,
marking, packing, transporting, storing, quality certificate, and order form (or
contract) content of aluminium alloy strips for armored cable.
This Standard applies to aluminium alloy strips for armored cable (hereinafter
referred to as strips).
2 Normative references
The following documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
For the dated references, only the editions with the dates indicated are
applicable to this document. For the undated references, the latest edition
(including all the amendments) are applicable to this document.
GB/T 3190 Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy - Chemical composition
GB/T 3199 Wrought Aluminium and Aluminium Alloy Products - Packing,
Marking, Transporting and Storing
GB/T 3880.3 Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy plates, sheets and
strips for general engineering - Part 3: Tolerances on forms and dimensions
GB/T 7999 Optical emission spectrometric analysis method of aluminum and
aluminum alloys
GB/T 8170 Rules of rounding off for numerical values & expression and
judgement of limiting values
GB/T 16865 Test pieces and method for tensile test for wrought aluminium
and magnesium alloys products
GB/T 17432 Methods for sampling for analyzing the chemical composition of
wrought aluminum and aluminum alloys
GB/T 20975 (all parts) Methods for Chemical Analysis of Aluminium and
Aluminium Alloys
4.1.3 The judgement of the analytical value is based on the round-off
comparison method. The rules of rounding off for numerical values shall be in
accordance with the relevant provisions of GB/T 8170. The round-off digits shall
be consistent with the limit digits specified in GB/T 3190.
4.2 Dimensional tolerances
4.2.1 Rounding off for dimensions
The dimensional measurement values are not allowed to be rounded-off. The
judgement method of limiting values shall comply with the provisions of GB/T
8170.
4.2.2 Unevenness
A sample with a length of 2000 mm is randomly taken from the strip (The sample
shall contain the wave part of the strip as much as possible). The sample is
placed on the platform freely. According to the provisions of GB/T 3880.3, detect
the wave height and number of waves.
4.2.3 Measurement of other dimensions
Measurement of other dimensions is carried out in accordance with the
provisions of GB/T 3880.3.
4.3 Room-temperature tensile mechanical properties
The room-temperature tensile test of the strips is carried out in accordance with
the provisions of GB/T 16865.
4.4 Appearance quality
The appearance quality of the strips shall be visually inspected; during
arbitration, shall be carried out under natural scattered light. If necessary, a
dimension measuring tool may be used to define the defect size.
5 Inspection rules
5.1 Inspection and acceptance
5.1.1 The strips shall be inspected by the supplier, to ensure that the strip quality
meets the requirements of this Standard and the order form (or contract). It shall
fill out the quality certificate.
5.1.2 The purchaser shall inspect the received strips in accordance with the
provisions of this Standard. If the inspection result does not conform to the
this lot is judged to be unqualified.
5.6.2 When the dimensional tolerances of any sample are unqualified, the coil
of strips represented by this sample is judged to be unqualified.
5.6.3 When the room-temperature tensile mechanical properties of any sample
are unqualified, a double quantity of samples shall be taken from this lot of strips
(including the coil of strips represented by this unqualified sample) for repeated
test. If the repeated test results are all qualified, this lot of strips is judged to be
qualified. If there is still sample with unqualified properties in the repeated test
results, this lot of strips is judged to be unqualified. After negotiation between
the supplier and the purchaser, the supplier is allowed to inspect on a coil-by-
coil basis and deliver qualified ones.
5.6.4 If the appearance quality of any coil of strips is unqualified, this coil is
judged to be unqualified.
6 Marking, packing, transporting, storing, and quality
certificate
6.1 Marking
6.1.1 Product marking
Labels with the following contents shall be attached to the strips which have
passed the inspection (When the strip’s width specification is less than 25.0
mm, it is attached to the outside of packing box):
a) Product name;
b) Designation;
c) State;
d) Dimensions;
e) Strip lot number or coil number;
f) Net weight;
g) Inspection print of the supplier’s quality inspection department (or the
signature or seal of the quality inspection personnel).
6.1.2 Marking of packing box
