GB/T 13354-1992 GB NATIONAL STANDARD OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA Test Method for Density of Adhesives in Fluid Form – Method of Weight Cup ISSUED ON: JANUARY 14, 1992 IMPLEMENTED ON: DECEMBER 01, 1992 Issued by: State Bureau of Technical Supervision Table of Contents 1 Subject Contents and Applicable Scope ... 3 2 Definition ... 3 3 Apparatus ... 3 4 Test Procedures ... 3 5 Method of Calculation ... 4 6 Test Report ... 4 Additional Information: ... 5 Test Method for Density of Adhesives in Fluid Form – Method of Weight Cup 1 Subject Contents and Applicable Scope This Standard specifies the method for measuring the density of liquid adhesives and their components by a 37.00mL weight cup. This Standard is applicable to the determination of the density of liquid adhesives; especially for liquid adhesives whose viscosity is higher or the components are more volatile, and it is not appropriate to use the pycnometer method to determine the density. 2 Definition Density: The mass per unit volume of the liquid adhesive at a specified temperature (weight in a vacuum). The density in this method is obtained through dividing the mass of the liquid adhesive in a weight cup with a capacity of 37.00 mL at 20°C by 37.00mL. 3 Apparatus 3.1 Weight cup: a metal cup with a capacity of 37.00 mL at 20°C. NOTE: The domestically-produced weight cup that satisfies this Standard is called "QBB Specific Gravity Cup". 3.2 Constant temperature bath or constant temperature room: Can maintain at 23±1°C. 3.3 Balance: Sensitivity is 0.001g. 3.4 Thermometer: 0~50°C, with division of 1°C. 4 Test Procedures 4.1 Prepare an adhesive sample sufficient for three tests. 4.2 Wash the weight cup by a volatile solvent and dry it.
