General Flexible Polyether Polyurethane Cellular
Plastics
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules
and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of general flexible polyether
polyurethane cellular plastics.
This Standard is applicable to polyether flexible polyurethane cellular plastics in block,
sheet and strip shapes or cut into the above shapes.
2 Normative References
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Standard through
reference in this Standard. For dated references, the subsequent amendments
(excluding corrigendum) or revisions do not apply to this Standard, however, parties
who reach an agreement based on this Standard are encouraged to study if the latest
versions of these documents are applicable. For undated references, the latest edition
of the referenced document applies.

measuring points shall be even. Measure 80mm away from the edge of the length.
5.3 Senses
5.3.1 Visual inspection of colour and pollution under normal light.
5.3.2 The pores and the skin on both sides are measured by a measuring tool with an
accuracy of 0.5mm; and the length of the crack is measured by a tape with a minimum
graduation of 1mm.
5.3.3 Odour: smell with nose.
5.4 Indentation property
Carry out according to method B specified in GB/T 10807-2006. The specimen size is
(380 ± 20) mm × (380 ± 20) mm × (50 ± 2) mm; the number of specimens is 3; and the
indentation hardness at 25% and 65% indentation is measured. Calculate the ratio of
the indentation hardness at 65% and 25%.
5.5 Determination of compression set
It shall be carried out according to the provisions of Method-A in GB/T 6669-2001; test
temperature 70°C ± 2°C, test time 22h, compress 75% of specimen thickness
(compressed to 25% of specimen thickness). Sample size is of (50 ± 1) mm × (50 ± 1)
mm × (25 ± 1) mm; the number of specimens is 5.
5.6 Resilience
According to the provisions of GB/T 6670-1997, the specimen size is (100 ± 3) mm ×
(100 ± 3) mm × (50 ± 2) mm, and the number of specimens is 3.
5.7 Tensile strength and elongation rate
It shall be carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 6344-1996, the test speed is
at (500 ± 50) mm/min; the specimen thickness is 10mm; and the effective gauge length
is 50mm. The number of specimens is 5.
5.8 Tearing strength
It shall be carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 10808-2006, the test speed
is at 50mm/min. The size of the specimen is at (25 ± 0.5) mm × (25 ± 0.5) mm × (150
± 1) mm; one end of the specimen is cut with a 50mm long incision; and the number
of specimens is 3.
5.9 Tensile strength and its rate of change after dry heat aging
The dry heat aging test shall be carried out according to the provisions of GB/T 9640-
1988; the test temperature is at 140°C; after standing for 16h, then measure the tensile
6 Inspection Rules
6.1 Classification of Inspection
6.1.1 Exit-factory inspection
The exit-factory inspection items indicate 25% indentation hardness, 65%/25%
indentation ratio, tensile strength, elongation rate, tearing strength, resilience in 4.1,
4.2, 4.3, and 4.4.
6.1.2 Type inspection
The Type inspection items shall be the ones in 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 and 4.6. Type
inspection shall be carried out in one of the following situations:
a) Finalized appraisal for the trial production of new product;
b) After formal production, if there are major changes in structure, raw materials,
and processes, which may affect product performance;
c) An inspection shall be conducted every six months during normal production;
d) When the product resumes production after a long-term suspension of production
for half a year;
e) When there is a big difference between the exit-factory inspection result and the
last Type inspection result;
f) When the national quality supervision agency requests for type inspection.
6.1.3 Appraisal inspection
Appraisal inspection items indicate all items in Clause 4. It shall be carried out when
the new product is trial-produced or when the quality of the product is disputed.
6.2 Batching and sampling
6.2.1 Batching
Take the products with the same raw material, the same formula, and the same
process conditions, and production quantity no more than100t as a batch; if the
products are produced in boxes, then take the quantity no more than 10t as a batch.
6.2.2 Sampling
Three blocks of cut products are sampled for size deviation and sense. The physical
and mechanical properties, fatigue property of repeated indentation under constant
