Foreword
The standard is modified from ISO 3154:1988 "Stranded wire ropes for mine hoisting-Technical
delivery requirements", the comparison schedule of the national standard clauses and the
international standard clauses are listed in the Appendix B.
Because the national law requirements and the industrial special needs, the national standard is
amended when the international standard is adopted. These technical differences are marked with
the vertical single line the page margin in the involved clauses. The technical difference and its
cause schedule are presented in Appendix C for your reference.
The national standard is compulsory standard. Therein, clauses 5,6.1, 6.2.1, 6.2.2, 6.2.3, 6.2.4,

The standard still made the following compilation amendment.
a) The international standard is changed into "the national standard". b) The comma ", " as dot is
replaced by ".".
c) The preface of the international standard is deleted.
The corresponding proportion of GB/T 8918-1996 Steel wire ropes is replaced by the national
standard.

The steel wire surface condition shall conform to prescription of Table 3.
6.3.3 Tensile strength
6.3.3.1 Nominal tensile strength
The nominal tensile strength of steel wire shall conform to prescription of
Table 3. The tensile strength in the Table is lower limit value. The upper limit

7.2.7 Qualified condition
The steel wire rope strand dismantles steel wire shall conform to following
requirements:
a) The number of unqualified steel wire of any kind of diameter shall be no more than
one, or
b) If the number of unqualified steel wire of any kind of diameter is two or more than
two, the unqualified item test shall be done for miscellaneous steel wires with this
kind of diameter. If the number of unqualified steel wires is no more than 4% of
the steel wire number with the same diameter (rounding off whole number), the
steel wire rope is qualified.
If the same steel wire has many unqualified items, it is calculated according to one.
7.3 When one piece of steel wire rope is delivered by cutting into several pieces of steel wire
ropes, sampling test is carried out for any piece of the steel wire rope, others are free from
test. Otherwise, the test will be carried out for steel wire ropes one by one.
7.4 The steel wire rope mechanical property check
According to actual measurement steel wire rope broken tensile force, look up Table 9-23
and check nominal tensile strength for steel wire rope.
7.4.1 When the steel wire in the same steel wire rope has the same nominal tensile strength,
the steel wire rope nominal tensile strength id the same to nominal tensile strength of
