This standard was prepared in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 1.1- 2009 "Directives for standardization - Part 1.Structure and drafting of standards". This standard replaces SH/T 0417-92 "Liquid paraffin wax". The main differences between this standard and SH/T 0417-92 "Liquid paraffin wax" are as follows. - CHANGE the standard name from liquid paraffin to light liquid paraffin wax; - MODIFY the mechanical impurities and water into appearance; - CANCEAL distillation range indicators; ADD indicators such as carbon number distribution, bromine index, Saybolt color, sulfur content, average molecular weight; - MODIFY the total content of n-alkanes into not less than 98.5% (mass fraction); - MODIFY the aromatics content into not more than 0.4% (mass fraction); - ADD the chapter of inspection rules; - ADD the chapter of safety. This standard was proposed by China Petrochemical Corporation. This standard shall be under the jurisdiction of the Petroleum Wax Products Subcommittee of the National Petroleum Products and Lubricants Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC 280/SC 3).
