This Standard specifies the design basis, design method and design verification for deck loading plan of self-elevating drilling units. This Standard is applicable to the design and drawing for the deck loading plan of self- elevating drilling units. The design for deck loading plan of other offshore engineering platforms and auxiliary ships, etc. can be used for reference.2 Normative References

For the purpose of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 Deck The area on the self-elevating drilling unit that is used to store all equipment, bulk materials, tools, and for the personnel’s daily activities and work. 3.2 Deck load Design the maximum load that the deck structure of each part of the self-elevating drilling unit can withstand. NOTE: The unit is N/m2 or kN/m2. In addition to the main functional areas in 5.1.1~5.1.4, the deck storing areas that are specifically defined due to the requirements of the technical specifications of contract or to meet the specific functional requirements. 5.2 General requirements 5.2.1 The deck loading plan only indicates the uniform load on each deck rather than deck loads of various fixed tanks. 5.2.2 The deck loading plan shall include the load information and load summary tables of all decks. 5.2.3 The deck loading plan of self-elevating drilling unit mainly consists of 4 parts: main body, cantilever beam, drill floor, and various layers of decks in the living building area. 5.2.4 The unit of all deck loads shall be uniform. 5.2.5 The pattern indicating the deck load shall be corresponding to deck load one by one. 5.2.6 The load on each layer of deck as shown in the deck loading plan shall be consistent with the structure and overall analysis value. 5.3 Determination of deck load 5.3.1 The deck load of each area shall be designed according to the parameters and requirements of the technical specifications of contract. If there are no other special provisions and requirements, it shall also satisfy 5.3.2~5.3.6. 5.3.2 The deck load of the common working area and common storing area shall be designed according to the given parameters of the equipment; and values no less than that in Table 1 shall be taken. Table 1 – Deck Load of Common Working Area and Common Storing Area 5.3.3 The deck load of the personnel’s activity area shall take the values no less than that in Table 2.
