1 Scope

This standard specifies the external detection method for stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of buried steel pipelines, including data collection and SCC sensitive factors. Analysis, SCC position prediction, excavation detection, assessment and disposal, recording and reporting. This standard is applicable to buried steel pipelines in long-distance pipelines, gathering pipelines and public pipelines. Other buried steel pipelines can be referred to. The relevant provisions of this standard are implemented. This standard is only applicable to stress corrosion cracking caused by the external environment of buried steel pipelines, and is not suitable for stress corrosion caused by conveying medium.
