Residual amount of diethylene glycol in cosmetics
Determination of GC/MS
1 Scope
This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for the determination of diethylene glycol in creams, lotions and powder cosmetics.
This standard applies to the determination of diethylene glycol in creams, lotions and powder cosmetics.
2 Principle
The sample was extracted by methanol, adjusted to volume, filtered, and determined by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, selected by ion detection, and quantified by external standard method.
3 reagents and materials
Secondary deionized water or water of equivalent purity was used in the analysis unless otherwise stated.
3.1 Methanol (chromatographically pure).
3.2 Anhydrous sodium sulfate (analytical grade). ignited at 650 ° C for 4 h, stored in a closed desiccator for use.
3.3 Diethylene glycol standard. purity ≥ 99%.
3.4 Diethylene glycol standard stock solution. Accurately weigh 0.1g of diethylene glycol standard (accurate to 0.1mg), and dilute to 100mL with methanol.
The concentration of the alcohol standard stock solution was 1 mg/mL and was stored in a refrigerator at 4 °C.
3.5 Diethylene glycol standard working solution. accurately transfer a certain volume of standard stock solution (3.4) to 7 100mL volumetric flasks, methanol
(3.1) Dilute to volume. Formulated as a standard working solution of diethylene glycol at concentrations of 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 8.0, 10.0 mg/L for drawing standards
curve.
4 instruments
4.1 Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometer. equipped with an electron impact ionization source (EI).
4.2 vortex oscillator.
4.3 Ultrasonic cleaner.
4.4 0.45 μm organic filter.
5 Analysis steps
5.1 Sample Processing
A 5 g (accurate to 0.001 g) sample was weighed into a 50 mL stoppered colorimetric tube. The cream sample is sequentially added with 3 g of anhydrous sodium sulfate, and then
Add 15 mL of methanol (3.1); add 3 g of anhydrous sodium sulfate to the liquid sample, then add 15 mL of methanol (3.1); the powder sample is added directly.
15 mL of methanol (3.1). Vortex for 30s, after 20min at room temperature, dilute to 25mL with methanol, mix, filter through the membrane, the filtrate is
Sample liquid to be tested.
