1 Scope
This standard specifies the content, methods, procedures, statistical analysis and monitoring reports for monitoring mosquitoes at border ports.
This standard applies to mosquito monitoring at border ports.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
2.1
A systematic investigation of the population and quantity of mosquitoes (adults, larvae) present in different ecological environments of the port was carried out by a specific method.
2.2
Three indexes. container index, housing index, and Breteau index.
3 monitoring procedures
3.1 Preparation
3.1.1 Establishing a group
A monitoring team consisting of three to six people is set up. The personnel must be professionally trained and directed by professional and technical personnel.
3.1.2 Formulating a plan
This includes determining the monitoring method, time, location, and content.
3.1.2.1 Method
Select the applicable monitoring method according to the actual situation.
3.1.2.2 Time
3.1.2.2.1 One year is a monitoring cycle.
3.1.2.2.2 Adult mosquitoes are monitored once every ten days.
3.1.2.2.3 The larvae are monitored once a month; at the ports where there are Aedes mosquitoes, the larval index is monitored quarterly.
3.1.2.2.4 When an epidemic occurs, monitor it at any time.
3.1.2.3 Location
Choose one or two points in various habitat types (water ponds, grass, houses, and livestock) in the port and try to meet the following conditions.
---Select a location where the environment will not change during a monitoring cycle;
--- Choose to be close to people and animals;
--- Adults choose shelter from the wind, larvae choose the water.
3.1.2.4 Content
--- Adult mosquitoes. density, distribution, population composition and seasonal growth and decline;
--- larvae. density, distribution, container index, housing index, Breteau index (only for ports with Aedes) and the determination of their results;
---Environmental monitoring. geography, landforms, vegetation, weather, temperature, relative humidity, wind, rainfall;
