This standard replaces GB/T 3420-1982 "gray cast iron pipe fittings" and GB/T 8715-1988 "flexible mechanical interface cast iron pipe fittings"
After the standard name for "gray cast iron pipe fittings."
This standard compared with GB/T 3420-1982 and GB/T 8715-1988 main changes are as follows.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the classification of cast iron pipe fittings, size, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging and quality
Certificate, transport and storage.
This standard applies to the transmission of water and gas used to connect the socket and flange connections gray cast iron pipe fittings and flexible mechanical interface cast iron pipe fittings.
The use of cast iron pipe fittings should refer to the technical requirements of pipe design, construction specifications.
