This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"
Drafting.
This document is based on GB/T 20097-2006 and integrates the coverage of the size and type in GB/T 13640-2008 "Labor Protective Clothing Size and Type"
Compared with GB/T 20097-2006, the main technical changes in the use of rates and types, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial modifications, are as follows.
a) The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2006 edition);
b) The definition of harm has been deleted (see 3.1 of the.2006 edition);
c) The definition of hazard has been changed (see 3.1, 3.2 of the.2006 edition);
d) The definition of performance level has been changed (see 3.5, 3.6 of the.2006 edition);
e) Added terms and definitions for clause numbers (see 3.6);
f) Added safety requirements for protective clothing (see 4.2);
g) Added requirements for industrial cleaning (see 4.3.2);
h) Changed the requirements for dimensional changes caused by cleaning (see 4.3.3, 5.4 of the.2006 edition);
i) Added requirements for size and shape (see Chapter 5);
j) Deleted the color fastness requirements (see 5.2 of the.2006 edition);
k) Added maintenance labeling requirements for industrial cleaning (see 6.2).
This document is modified to adopt ISO 13688.2013 "General technical specification for protective clothing".
This document has the following structural adjustments compared to ISO 13688.2013.
a) 4.1 in Chapter 4 corresponds to 4.3 and 4.4 in ISO 13688.2013;
b) 4.3 in Chapter 4 corresponds to Chapter 5 in ISO 13688.2013;
c) 4.1 of ISO 13688.2013 was deleted;
d) Chapter 6 corresponds to Chapter 7 of ISO 13688.2013;
e) Chapter 7 corresponds to Chapter 8 of ISO 13688.2013;
f) Appendix B, Appendix C, Appendix D, Appendix E and Appendix J correspond to Appendix A, Appendix C, Appendix B, Appendix J in ISO 13688.2013 respectively.
Appendix F, Appendix E.
The technical differences between this document and ISO 13688.2013 and their reasons are as follows.
a) Added the terms and definitions of clause numbers (see 3.6) for ease of use;
b) The terms and definitions of “length from front waist to back waist across the shoulders” and “torso” (see 3.6 and 3.7 of ISO 13688.2013) have been deleted.
This document does not involve this term;
c) The overview (see 4.1 of ISO 13688.2013) has been deleted. This document does not involve this requirement after the restructuring;
d) Adjust the content of "When selecting protective clothing materials, minimize the impact of protective clothing production and disposal processes on the environment" to "Note"
(See 4.2, 4.2 of ISO 13688.2013) for ease of use;
e) The pH range has been changed (see 4.2.2, 4.2 of ISO 13688.2013) to be consistent with GB 18401;
f) Added technical requirements for formaldehyde content (see 4.2.3), consistent with GB 18401;
g) The technical requirements for decomposable carcinogenic aromatic amine dyes (see 4.2.4, 4.2 of ISO 13688.2013) have been changed to align with GB 18401.
Be consistent;
h) The minimum mechanical strength requirements for protective clothing (see 4.3.4 of ISO 13688.2013) have been deleted.
Specific product standards are given;
i) The general size identification content (see Chapter 6 of ISO 13688.2013) has been deleted to avoid conflict with Chapter 5 of this document.
Country size requirements;
j) Deleted the requirement of “informative text description in the official language of the destination country” (see ISO 13688.2013
7.1) This document is used in my country and does not emphasize the language used for identification;
k) The general requirements for marking (see 6.1.1 and 7.1 of ISO 13688.2013) have been changed to facilitate use.
The following editorial changes have been made to this document.
--- Incorporated the amendments to ISO 13688.2013/Amd1.2021;
--- Deleted the explanatory notes in brackets in Chapter 8 of ISO 13688.2013;
--- Deleted the informative Appendix D "Examples of size identification" of ISO 13688.2013.

This document applies to protective clothing intended to protect the wearer's body from occupational hazards.
