This standard specifies the definition, classification, technical requirements and test methods of DC surge protectors for low-voltage distribution systems for information and communication equipment. This standard applies to the quality assessment and inspection of surge protectors for DC systems connected to a rated voltage not greater than 1500V. This standard does not apply to surge protectors for Ethernet-based power supply systems and DC surge protectors for photovoltaic applications.
