This standard specifies the type, naming, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of the battery for locomotives and rolling stock (including EMU). This standard applies to railway rolling stock and urban rail vehicles using nickel-cadmium alkaline batteries (hereinafter referred to as nickel-cadmium batteries) and valve-controlled sealed lead-acid batteries (hereinafter referred to as lead-acid batteries).
