1 Scope
This standard specifies the maximum allowable concentration of the toxic and
hazardous substances which are contained in the electronic information
products.
This standard is applicable to the electronic information products which are
covered in the pollution control key management catalogue as specified in the
Electronic information product pollution control management method.
2 Normative references
The provisions in following documents become the provisions of this Standard
through reference in this Standard. For the dated references, the subsequent
amendments (excluding corrections) or revisions do not apply to this Standard;
however, parties who reach an agreement based on this Standard are
encouraged to study if the latest versions of these documents are applicable.
For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document applies.

information products
3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Substance
It refers to the elementary substance or compound which is existed in
nature AND is composed of chemical elements.
3.2
Hazardous substance
HS
It refers to the lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium,
polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers
(PBDE, excluding decabromodiphenyl ether) as contained in the electronic
information products.
3.9
Components
It refers to the structural unit in the electronic information product which has
a certain function or application, such as components, chassis, bracket,
screws, switches, wires, and so on.
3.10
Test unit
It refers to the sample which can be directly submitted for quantitative
detection without requiring further mechanical disassembly.
4 Requirements
The electronic information products are generally composed of components
and materials. AND its basic composition unit is material. To control the use of
the toxic and hazardous substance, first CLASSIFY these composition units of
the electronic information products in accordance with Table 1.
5 Rules of detection
5.1 Detection unit
The detection unit shall be each composition unit constituting the electronic
information product as listed in Table 1.
6 Qualification judgement
If the hazardous substance of all the composition units in the electronic
information product complies with the requirements of Table 2 after detection,
this electronic information product is deemed as qualified;
