For the appliances which have the information or state display (including clock) function in the standby mode, the power consumption at standby mode shall be not more than 1 W. 5.6 Roasting performance When the food is subjected to a roasting test, if the browning is between 4 and 12 in the standard color scale (see Appendix A), the difference in the same surface shall not be more than 3 chroma. The color difference at the surfaces of foods which are roasted at the same place shall not be more than 3 chroma. 5.7 Roasting time Squeeze the tape and the coating to achieve maximum bond. Pull one end of the tape up quickly along the perpendicular direction. Along two different directions in the grid area, respectively repeat the above steps 5 times for each, use new tape for each repeated operation. 6.4 Timing control performance Turn the appliance to the rated voltage, adjust the timer to the maximum timing, measure the time when it automatically cuts off the power. 6.5 Power consumption at standby mode and off mode The accuracy of the power meter and electric energy meter used in this test shall not be less than 0.01 W. Before the test, it shall place the appliance in an environment which has a temperature of 15 °C ~ 25 °C and a humidity of 45% ~ 75% for at least 6 h, so that the overall temperature of the appliance is at (20 ± 5) °C. Note: It may use the forced cooling method to assist in reducing the temperature of the appliance, in which case the appliance’s placement time may be reduced. The appliance is in an unloaded state during the test and is in the state of maximum power consumption in standby mode or off mode. The test is carried out in accordance with the methods of 6.5.1 or 6.5.2. 6.5.1 Short-term power measurement method This test method is only applicable to the selected mode and power stable conditions. If the measured change of power within 5 min is less than 5%, the power is considered to be stable, in which case it may directly read the power value as displayed by the instrument. Connect the appliance to the measuring instrument. Select the mode to be measured. After the appliance has passed at least 5 minutes to stabilize the power, use the measuring instrument to measure the power consumption, the time shall not be less than 5 min. The change of power value during the measurement is less than 5% (obtained from the observed maximum power value), the power is considered to be stable. Directly record the power value at the end of 5 min from the measuring instrument. 6.5.2 Average power method This test method is suitable for the conditions where the selected mode or the measured power is unstable. However, this method is also applicable to all cases where the mode is stable. This method uses the average power reading or cumulative energy for the user’s selected time period. sandwiches shall meet the requirements of 5.8. 6.9 Temperature control performance 6.9.1 Place the browning adjustment device at the highest position. Let the appliance run at no load. Use the thermocouple to measure the temperature of the temperature controller at the 3rd, 4th, 5th ON and OFF operations at the center points of the upper and lower working surfaces of the appliance. Calculate the average temperature for each ON and OFF operation. 6.9.2 In the operating temperature range of the waffle iron and sandwich grill, let the appliance run at no load. Use the thermocouple to measure the temperature of the temperature controller at the 3rd, 4th, 5th ON and OFF operations at the center points of the upper and lower working surfaces of the appliance. The deviation of action temperatures is the difference between each OFF temperature and nominal temperature value (if any). The amplitude of change of ON-OFF action temperatures is the maximum temperature of the absolute value of the difference between each ON temperature and OFF temperature. The deviation of action temperatures and the amplitude of change of ON-OFF action temperature shall comply with the provisions of 5.9.2. 6.10 Durability of hinge The durability of the two grille hinges of the waffle iron and the sandwich grill shall be subjected to the open-close test at the frequency of 8 times/min ~ 10 times/min. The appliance is opened to the maximum angle during the test. Carry out 5000 times of tests. 6.11 Bread rack’s operating force Put a standard bread slice in the roasting cavity. Open the bread rack’s lock. Use a dynamometer to hook the handle of the bread rack as shown in Figure 2, to measure the maximum force required for the operation. 6.12 Service life of toaster Connect the toaster to the rated voltage. Place the browning adjustment device to the highest position. Press down the button. After 30 s after the first popup, press down the button again. After the second popup, first place it for 5 min, then col the appliance to room temperature, which forms 1 cycle. Carry out 2500 cycles in total.
