1 Scope

This Standard specifies the safety technical requirements for the entire vehicle, main assembly, safety protection device of the commercial bus. This Standard is applicable to the Class-B and Class-III commercial bus in the Type- M2 and Type-M3 vehicle. This Standard is not applicable to the school bus.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions and those ones stipulated in GB/T 3730.1, GB/T 6323, GB 13094, GB/T 15089 are applicable to this document. 3.1 Commercial bus Bus used for operation of passenger transport.

4 Technical Requirements

4.1 Entire vehicle 4.1.1 The commercial bus roof shall not be equipped with the gas cylinders of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). 4.1.5 The commercial bus with length greater than 9m shall be equipped with the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) that conforms to the provisions of JT/T 883; and equipped with the Automatic Emergency Braking System (AEBS). The forward collision warning function of the AEBS shall conform to the provisions of JT/T 883; other functions shall conform to the provisions of relevant standards. 4.1.6 When leaving the factory, the commercial bus shall be equipped with vehicle inside and outside video monitoring system with the storage and upload functions; and equipped with the vehicle terminal based on satellite positioning system with the travel recording function. 4.2 Steering system 4.2.1 When the maximum design axle load of steering shaft is greater than 4000kg, the power steering device shall be installed. When steering, the power steering function shall be continuously valid; and when the power steering device failed, the steering wheel can also control the vehicle. 4.2.2 The commercial bus shall be understeering characteristics; perform the test as per GB/T 6323; the understeering degree shall conform to the provisions of QC/T 480. 4.3 Braking system 4.3.1 The commercial bus shall be equipped with the anti-lock braking device that conforms to the provisions of GB/T 13594; and equipped with the signal device for warning if the anti-lock braking device fails. 4.3.2 All tyres of the commercial bus shall be installed the disc brakes. 4.3.3 All service brake of the commercial bus shall have the automatic adjustment function of the brake clearance. When the lining of the disc service brake needs replacing, use the acoustic or optical alarm device to warn the driver at the driver’s seat; the warning signal shall meet the requirements of GB 12676. 4.5 Driving system 4.5.1 The commercial bus shall be equipped with tubeless radial tires. 4.5.2 The commercial bus installed single-tire wheel shall be equipped with tire pressure monitoring system or tire pressure alarm device; and can display relevant information to the driver through the dashboard. 4.5.3 The front wheels of commercial bus with length greater than 9m shall be equipped with the tyre-failure emergency safety device conforming the provisions of JT/T 782; and can display to the driver through the dashboard. 4.6 Vehicle body structure, strength, and exit 4.6.1 Superstructure strength The superstructure strength of the commercial bus shall conform to the provisions of GB 17578.After performing the test as per GB 17578, the seat adjustment and locking device shall be maintained the locking state, the seat and vehicle fixtures shall not fail; for the gasoline-fueled commercial bus, its fuel tank shall not leak. door approach shall be nonadjustable. 4.7 Safety guards 4.7.1 The commercial bus shall be equipped with single fuel tank, the rated capacity of which shall be less than or equal to 260L, and the following requirements shall be met. 4.7.2 The installation requirements of special CNG, LNG, LPG gas devices for commercial bus shall conform to the provisions of GB 7258; while the installation requirements of special CNG, LPG gas devices shall conform to the provisions of GB 19239.The filling receptacle, control instrument and valves shall be provided with safety guards. 4.7.6 The interior material characteristics of the commercial bus shall conform to the provisions of JT/T 1095. 4.7.7 Above the installation position of commercial bus equipped with eddy current retarder shall be installed the heat-insulating device with the flame retardant characteristics; and shall install the temperature alarm system. 4.7.8 The design and manufacturing of the commercial bus shall ensure the exhaust from the engine and heating equipment not to enter into the passenger cabin; the commercial bus shall be equipped with the ventilation equipment. 4.7.9 The commercial bus shall be equipped with at least two parking wedges (such as triangular stow-wood).

5 Requirements for Transition Period of Standard Implementation

5.1 The following requirements shall be implemented against the newly- manufactured vehicles from the 7th month since the implementation date of this Standard. 5.2 The following requirements shall be implemented against the newly- manufactured vehicles from the 13th month since the implementation date of this Standard. 5.3 The following requirements shall be implemented against the newly- manufactured vehicles from the 25th month since the implementation date of this Standard. 3 Terms and Definitions
