This document is Part 38 of GB/T 4706 "Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances". GB/T 4706 has been published in the following parts.

This document replaces GB 4706.38-2008 "Safety of household and similar electrical appliances - Particular requirements for commercial electric food processing machinery"
Compared with GB 4706.38-2008, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.

1 Scope
This chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024 is replaced by the following.
This document deals with the safety of electrically powered food processing machinery used for commercial purposes other than for household use.
The rated voltage of electrical appliances shall not exceed 250V, and that of other appliances shall not exceed 480V.
NOTE 101 Such appliances are suitable for use in commercial food processing, for example in restaurants, canteens, hospital kitchens and commercial enterprises such as bakeries and butchers.
Note 102.Examples of food processing machinery are as follows.
