Introduction
GB/T 44165 “Detection Methods for Key Chemical Substances in Consumer Products” is a revision of GB/T 39498 “Control Methods for Use of Key Chemical Substances in Consumer Products”.
The relevant chemical substances in the Guidelines provide detection methods.
GB/T 44165 is a unified or supplementary method standard for the detection of chemical substances in consumer products. It is intended to provide a unified or supplementary method standard for the detection of chemical substances in consumer products.
The project provides technical support for the supervision of relevant chemical substances in consumer products and is planned to consist of 9 parts.
--- Part 1.Short-chain chlorinated paraffins;
--- Part 2.Migration of styrene;
--- Part 3.Ethyl chloride;
--- Part 4.1,4-Dichlorobenzene;
--- Part 5.Phenol;
--- Part 6.Acrylamide;
--- Part 7.Polychlorinated naphthalenes;
--- Part 8.Perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA);
--- Part 9.Hexabromocyclododecane.

1 Scope
This document describes a method for the determination of phenol content and migration in consumer products using high performance liquid chromatography.
This document applies to the determination of phenol content in consumer products (except cosmetics, footwear and toys) containing the following materials.
---Liquid materials, such as ink, printing ink, coating, etc.;
---Flexible modeling materials;
---leather.
This document is also applicable to the determination of phenol migration in polymeric materials with a fixed surface area.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the essential clauses of this document through normative references in this document.

GB/T 6682 Specifications and test methods for water used in analytical laboratories
3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
A water-soluble gel or soft, plastic material designed to be kneaded, stretched or shaped.
4 Principle
When determining the phenol content, methanol ultrasonic extraction was used and the sample was filtered through a membrane. When determining the migration amount of phenol, water was used as the migration medium to extract the sample.
The phenol in the sample is filtered through a membrane and the test solution is measured by high performance liquid chromatography and quantified by external standard method.
5 Reagents or materials
Unless otherwise stated, all reagents were of analytical grade.
5.1 Methanol. chromatographic grade.
5.2 Water. GB/T 6682, grade 1.
5.3 Standard substance. phenol, purity 98%, CAS number. 108-95-2.
