1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of treatment and disposal of electroplating sludge, and the classification of treatment and disposal. This standard applies to the classification and treatment of sludge generated in the electroplating industry, including electroplating and chemistry on various metal and non-metal substrates. The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Electroplating sludge electroplatingsludge Sludge produced by the treatment of waste liquid (waste water) produced during the production or operation of the electroplating industry. Note. Electroplating sludge is divided into electroplating and quality sludge and electroplating mixed sludge. 3.2 Plating quality sludge quality-dividedelectroplatingsludge An electroplated sludge mainly containing a single heavy metal element obtained by treating the same type or different types of electroplating waste liquid (waste water). Note.
