This standard replaces GB 9075-1988 "aerial tramway wire rope inspection and discard norms."
This standard compared with GB 9075-1988 The main changes are as follows.
--- The standard name from "aerial tramway wire rope inspection and discard specification" to "cableway wire rope inspection and discard norms";
--- Increased passenger ground cable car, ropeway towing wire rope inspection and retirement provisions;
--- Increasing the content of terms and definitions;
--- Increased splicing size;
--- Increased repair splice area;
--- Increased beyond repair splice area;
--- Increased external broken wires determination and disposal standards under special circumstances;
--- Increasing the fixed end of the scrapping regulations.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the cableway wire rope inspection and installation, inspection, maintenance and decommissioning standards.
This standard applies to passenger and freight ropeway, ground cable car, ropeway towing wire rope, do not apply to temporary tramway and forestry cableway
