1 Scope
This standard specifies the use of chemical analysis methods to determine the mixture of cowhide fibers and certain other fibers after removing non-fibrous substances.
Method of fiber content.
This standard applies to cowhide fiber and wool or other animal hair, silk, acetate fiber, cellulose fiber (cotton, flax, ramie, viscose fiber)

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Cowhide fiber cattlehidefiber
Natural fiber obtained from cow leather as raw material after defibrating, drying, opening and carding.
4 The mixture of cowhide fiber and wool or other animal hair (sulfuric acid method)
4.1 Principle
Use 75% (mass fraction) sulfuric acid solution to dissolve and remove the cowhide fiber from the mixture of known dry mass, collect the residue, wash,
Drying and weighing; use the corrected mass to calculate the percentage of the dry mass of the mixture. The quality percentage of the cowhide fiber can be obtained from the difference.
4.2 Reagents
4.2.1 Use the reagents specified in GB/T 2910.1 and 4.2.2 and 4.2.3 of this standard.
4.2.2 75% (mass fraction) sulfuric acid solution
Under cooling conditions, slowly add 700mL of concentrated sulfuric acid (density ρ=1.84g/mL) to 350mL of water. Wait for the solution to cool
To room temperature, then dilute to 1L with water. The concentration of sulfuric acid solution should be in the range of 73% to 77% (mass fraction).
