This Standard is China’s first industrial standard related to standardization of power storage batteries for electric vehicles of which its purpose is to OPTIMIZE the design and manufacture of power battery, STANDARDIZE the research and development, production and application of power battery, REDUCE the R&D and production cost of power battery development organization and the procurement cost of vehicle unit, and PROMOTE the development of the industry. This Standard was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Automobile of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 114). This Standard is applicable to monomer and module of metal hydride nickel traction battery and lithium-ion traction battery for electric vehicles.2 Normative references
