GB/T 8812 "Rigid cellular plastics -- Determination of flexural properties" is divided into two parts: - Part 1: Basic flexural test; - Part 2: Determination of flexural strength and apparent flexural modulus of elasticity. This Part is Part 2 of GB/T 8812, corresponding to ISO 1209-2:2004 "Rigid cellular plastics - Determination of flexural properties - Part 2: Determination of flexural strength and apparent flexural modulus of elasticity". This Part identically adopts ISO 1209-2:2004 and only makes few editorial modifications. In terms of technical content and writing methods, it is completely identical to ISO 1209:2:2004. This Part was proposed by China Light Industry Federation. This Part shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Plastic Products of Standardization Administration of China. The drafting organizations of this Part: Beijing Institute of Plastics and Beijing University of Commerce. Main drafters of this Part: Pu Junjie, Chen Qian. This Part is issued for the first time. This Part of GB/T 8812 specifies the determination methods for flexural strength and apparent flexural modulus of elasticity of rigid cellular plastics.2 Normative references

A load is applied at a uniform rate by means of a loading edge to a test specimen supported at two positions. The load is applied perpendicularly to the specimen at a position midway between the supporting positions (see Figure 1). The load/deformation curve is recorded. From the curve, the flexural strength and the apparent flexural modulus of elasticity are calculated. used for statistical evaluation of the repeatability (5 test results). The results, analysed in accordance with ISO 5725:1986, Precision of test methods - Determination of repeatability and reproducibility for a standard test method by inter- laboratory tests (now withdrawn), are given in Table 2.9 Test report
