This Document defines the terms and definitions used in compiling the Guide Manual to Dismantling End-of-Life Vehicles (hereinafter referred to as the Manual), establishes the general compilation principles, and specifies the compilation items and requirements. This Document applies to the compilation of Manual for manufacturers of M, N, and L category of motor vehicles. Manual for other vehicle types may be compiled with reference to this document.2 Normative References

For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this Document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) is applicable to this Document. For the purposes of this Document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 End-of-life vehicles; ELVs The motor vehicles that meet the national mandatory scrapping standards or motor vehicles whose owners voluntarily choose to scrap them. [SOURCE. GB 22128-2019, 3.1] 3.2 Electric vehicle; EV A general term for pure electric vehicles, hybrid (electric) vehicles, and fuel cell electric vehicles. [SOURCE. GB 22128-2019, 3.2] 3.3 Dismantling The process of harmlessly disposing of scrapped motor vehicles, removing major assemblies and reusable parts, and disassembling or flattening the vehicle body and structural components. GB 22128-2019, 3.4] 3.4 Pretreatment The process of dismantling scrapped vehicles involves first processing and collecting toxic and hazardous parts or materials that are likely to cause environmental pollution or personal injury. 4.1 Adaptability The compilation shall conform to the current overall technological development level of motor vehicle dismantling, be practical and reliable; and guide motor vehicle dismantling enterprises to dismantle end-of-life vehicles safely, efficiently, and environmentally. 4.2 Standardization All used units of measurement, symbols, Chinese and English names, recoverability instructions, terminology, etc., shall comply with the relevant national or industry standards such as GB 3100, GB/T 26988, and GB/T 26989.The name of the used standard shall be indicated where necessary. 4.3 Readability The compilation should be in Chinese; and should use various illustrations (including icons) to accurately and clearly express information.5 Compilation Items and Requirements
