This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Standard replaces GB/T 17505-1998 Steel and Steel Products - General Technical Delivery Requirements. This Part uses redrafting method to modify and adopt ISO 404.2013 Steel and steel products - General technical delivery requirements. This Standard is basically consistent with ISO 404.2013.However, when using ISO 404.2013, in content, it made modification by combining China’s national conditions. Relevant technical differences have been incorporated into the body and marked on the margin of the involved provisions. The technical differences and reasons are given in Annex A for reference. This Standard was proposed by China Iron and Steel Association. This Standard shall be under the jurisdiction of National Technical Committee on Steel of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 183). The drafting organization of this Standard. This Standard specifies general technical delivery requirements for steel and steel products contained in GB/T 15574 (excluding steel and powder metallurgy products).2 Normative references

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 13304.1, GB/T 13304.2 and GB/T 15574 and the following terms and definitions apply. before delivery, according to the technical requirements of contract, conduct the inspection and testing for delivered products or partial products so as to verify if they meet the contract’s requirements4 Ordering information provided by user
The contract shall include all content required to describe the product characteristics and the following details about delivery.5 Manufacturing process
Unless there is an agreement at the time of order or as otherwise specified in the product standard, the manufacturing process shall be selected by the manufacturer.6 Supply by intermediary
If the intermediary changes the product size, it shall provide an additional document which is in line with the new state. It is also applicable to all special requirements not contained in manufacturer’s inspection document or quality certificate.7 Requirements
Unless otherwise specified that it is product analysis, the requirements related to chemical composition all refer to cast analysis. The analysis method shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 1467. When required, the special technology for defect detection (such as X-ray detection, ultrasonic inspection, magnetic particle testing, etc.) as well as its number of product testing unit, processing method of test results shall be in accordance with product standard or determined via negotiation during ordering.8 Inspection and testing
During testing, manufacturer shall ensure the traceability between sample product, sample, test piece and test unit. Sequential testing results shall be assessed by the following methods (take impact testing results as an example).9 Reclassification and repair
Manufacture has right to conduct reclassification or repair to unqualified product before or after re-inspection (for example. heat treatment, cutting, rolling, drawing, etc.), then according to 8.3.2, submit those products for acceptance as new test units.10 Marks
Manufacture shall make marks according to product standard or contract requirements for product or delivery batch.11 Objection
