1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking,
packaging, transportation and storage for microfiber towelproducts.
This standard is applicable totowel products mainlymade of polyester/polyamide composite microfiber.
Other microfiber towel products may refer to this standard.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
microfiber towel
towel products mainly made of fibers with monofilament linear density less than 0.3 dtex
4 Requirements
4.1 The quality of the microfiber towel products is classified into superior grade, first grade and qualified
grade.
4.2 The internal quality of the microfiber towel products includes piece mass deviation ratio, breaking
strength, bursting strength, water absorption, ratio of fiber shedding, fiber content tolerance and colour
fastness to washing with soap or soap and soda, colour fastness to rubbing, colour fastness to
perspiration, colour fastness to water, colour fastness to chlorine bleach. Requirements of the internal
quality are specified in Table 1.

4.3 The appearance quality of microfiber towel products includesdimensional deviation ratio, colour
difference, defects and sewing quality. Requirements of theappearance quality are shown in Table 2.
4.4 The general safety technical requirements of microfiber towel shall conform to GB 18401.
5 Test methods
5.1 Test methods for internal quality
5.1.1 Piece mass deviation ratio: take three pieces of towelas test specimens, measure the dry massin
accordance with GB/T 9995; thencalculate the piece mass per specimen under conventional moisture
regains as specified in GB/T 9994, to get the average piece mass of the three specimens. Calculate the
piece mass deviation ratio by Formula (1) and round off the result to one decimal place according to
GB/T 8170.
5.1.2 Determine the breaking strengthaccording to GB/T 3923.1.
5.1.3 Determine the bursting strengthaccording to GB/T 19976-2005.The diameter of ball is 38
mm±0.02mm.
5.1.4 Determine the water absorption according to GB/T 21655.1.
5.1.5 Determine the ratio of fibershedding according to GB/T 22798.
5.1.6 Determine the fiber contentaccording to GB/T 2910 and FZ/T 01057.

5.1.7 Determine the colour fastness to washing with soap or soap and soda according to the test number
C inGB/T 3921-2008.
5.1.8 Determine the colour fastness to rubbing according to GB/T 3920.
5.1.9 Determine the colour fastness to perspiration according to GB/T 3922.
5.1.10 Determine the colour fastness to water according to GB/T 5713.
5.1.11 Determine the colour fastness to chlorine bleach according to GB/T 7069.
5.2 Inspection of the appearance quality
5.2.1 For the appearance quality inspection, the illuminance on the product surface shall not be lower
than 600 lx, and the distance between the inspector’s eyes and inspection table surface is about 60 cm.
5.2.2 Determination of the dimensional deviation ratio: lay the specimen on the inspection table flat in its
natural state. Measurethe distances with a steel ruler at the positions of one quarter and three quarters in
both length and width directions respectively, with an accuracy to 1 mm. Calculate the dimensional
deviation ratio by Formula (2) and round off the result to one decimal place according to GB/T 8170.
5.2.3 Assess the colour difference according to GB/T 250.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Sampling
6.1.1 Products of the same category and the same specification in one delivery batch shall be regarded
as one inspection lot.
6.1.2 Take samples for internal quality inspection from the inspection lot randomly with the sampling plan
shown in Table 3. The number of products for each inspection sample shall meet the inspection
requirements.
6.1.3 Take samples forappearance quality inspection from the inspection lot randomly, and the outer
package of the samples shall be in good condition. The sampling plan is shown in Table 4.
56.2 Judgement
6.2.1 The internal quality ofa single piece towel product is evaluated according to the lowest grade
ofitems indicated in Table 1. The appearance quality is evaluated according to the lowest grade ofitems
indicated in Table 2. The overall quality is evaluated by the lowest grade of the internal quality and the
appearance quality, and also by the general safety technical requirements.
6.2.2 The internal quality of inspection lot is evaluated according to Table 3. The appearance quality of
inspection lot is evaluatedaccording to Table 4. If the numberof nonconforming samples is less than or
equal to Ac, the inspection lot isjudged as conformity. If the number of nonconforming samplesis more
than or equal to Re, the inspection lot is judged as nonconformity.
6.2.3 The overallquality of inspection lot is judged by the lowest grade of the internal quality and the
appearance quality in the sampling inspection, and also by the general safety technical requirements.
7 Marking, packaging, transportation and storage
7.1 Marking
The marking of product shallcomply with GB 5296.4. The specification of products, referring to the
dimension, shall be labeled and expressed in centimeter(cm).
7.2 Packaging
The productsshall be packed according to different categories. The package and the packaging materials
shall guarantee that the products are not easy to bescattered, damaged, stained and damped, or may be
agreed by the buyer and the seller.
7.3 Transportation
The products shall be protected from damage, staining, damping, free from rain and long-term exposure
tosunlight during the transportation.The package shall be kept complete and intact.
7.4 Storage
The storage site shallbe ventilated, dry and clean, and shall be far from ignition source and high
temperature source.
