This Standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation, storage, quality certificate and order form (or contract) content of battery grade anhydrous lithium chloride. This Standard applies to anhydrous lithium chloride produced from various raw materials. The product is mainly used for one-step electrolysis to produce battery grade metallic lithium. It can also be used to manufacture welding materials, air conditioners, and as a catalyst for the synthesis of polymer materials.2 Normative references

3.1 Chemical composition The chemical composition of the product shall comply with the requirements in Table 1. Products shall be submitted for acceptance in batches, each batch consisting of the same mixture. The net weight of each batch shall not exceed 5 t. 5.3 Inspection items Each batch of products shall be inspected for chemical composition, physical properties, and appearance quality. 5.4 Sampling and sample preparation 5.4.1 Lithium chloride is a strongly hygroscopic material, and its representativeness shall be ensured every time when a sample is taken. 5.4.2 Randomly take 1 bag from less than 10 bags; randomly take 2 bags from 10 ~ 20 bags; randomly take 4 bags from more than 20 bags. 5.4.3 Stainless steel tubes or hard polyethylene samplers are used for product sampling. The sampling tube is inserted along the center of the bag to 2/3 of the bag. After the sample is mixed, it is divided into about 300 g using the quartering method in a dry environment. 5.5 Determination of inspection results 5.5.1 If the chemical composition analysis results are inconsistent with the provisions of this Standard, double sampling is allowed to carry out repeated test for unqualified items. If there is still one unqualified result after repeated test, the batch will be determined unqualified. 5.5.2 If the moisture content is unqualified, the batch will be determined unqualified. 5.5.3 If the appearance quality inspection fails, the batch will be determined unqualified. 5.5.4 If the particle size quality inspection fails, the batch will be determined unqualified. 5.5.5 If the whiteness quality inspection fails, the batch will be determined unqualified.6 Marking, packaging, transportation, and storage
