1 Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for motor vehicles’ hood latch system. This standard applies to category M and category N automobiles.

3 Terms and definitions

3.1 Hood All outward-movable body panels in front of the windshield, which are used to cover the engine, luggage, storage, or batteries.

4.1 Each hood (cover) shall have a hood (cover) latch system. 4.2 If the front-opening hood will partially or completely obstruct the driver's forward view through the windshield in any open position, then the hood latch system shall have a second latch position OR install a second hood latch system on the hood. ......
