This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This Standard replaces YS/T 656-2007, Designation and composition of wrought niobium and niobium alloy. Compared with YS/T 656-2007, the major changes of this Standard are as follows. -- 3 designations and their requirements are added, including NbT, NbW5-1 and NbW5-2; -- the normative references are modified; -- relevant specifications for other elements are modifies. This Standard was proposed by and shall be under the jurisdiction of Technical 243 on Nonferrous Metals of Standardization Administration of China (SAC/TC 243). The drafting organizations of this Standard. This Standard specifies the designation, chemical composition etc. of niobium and niobium alloy. This Standard applies to all types of wrought niobium and niobium alloy products (including cast ingots and semi-finished products).2 Normative References

3.1 Designations The products are classified into 10 designations, including NbT, Nb1, Nb2, NbZr1, NbZr2, FNb1, FNb2, NbHf10-1, NbW5-1 and NbW5-2. 3.2 Chemical compositions The product designations and chemical compositions shall be as specified in Table 1. 3.3 Other elements 3.3.1 Other elements refer to the inherent microelements in the production of niobium and niobium alloy, other than the elements artificially added. 3.3.2 Other elements generally include Cu, Ti, Ta, Fe, Si, W, Ni, Mo, Mn, Cr, Al, Hf, S, P, Sn (excluding the alloy elements in designations).
