Foreword

This standard is modified using the CORESTA No. 54 recommended method for the determination of lateral flow using conventional analytical linear smoking machines and fishtail covers. Tar and nicotine in flue gas (English version). This standard was redrafted in accordance with CORESTA Recommendation No. 54. Considering China's national conditions, this standard has a small number of technical differences compared with the recommended method of CORESTA No. 54. Differences have been incorporated into the text and are identified by vertical single lines in the margins of the terms they refer to. These technicalities are given in Appendix D. A list of differences and their causes is for reference. For ease of use, the following editorial changes have been made to the CORESTA Recommendation No. 54. --- Remove the preface to the recommended method of CORESTA No. 54; ---Remove references to CORESTA Recommendation No. 54; --- Incorporate the Annex "Suction Scheme" of CORESTA Recommendation No. 54 into Appendix C for reference; --- Added Appendix D "Comparison of this standard with the recommended method of CORESTA No. 54". 1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for determination of tar and nicotine in sidestream flue gas. This standard specifies the suction parameters of GB/T 16450 (pumping) Suction capacity, suction duration and pumping frequency) and butt length, but also for other suction parameters. This standard is applicable to the determination of total particulate matter in cigarette sidestream flue gas and the subsequent determination of nicotine and tar. This method may not be straight It is used for the determination of other sidestream smoke components.

3 Terms and definitions
