Foreword
YB/T 4078 "Chemical Analysis Method for Zirconia Refractories" is divided into the following two parts.
--- Part 1. Determination of zirconia (铪) by gravimetric method.
--- Part 2. Determination of the amount of zirconia (铪) by the EDTA volumetric method.
This part is the second part of YB/T 4078-2003, which is a new method for determining the amount of zirconia (铪) by the EDTA volumetric method.
This part is proposed and managed by the National Technical Committee for Refractory Standardization (CSBTS/T C193).
This section drafted by. Luoyang Refractory Materials Research Institute, Qingdao Shuangying Refractory Materials Co., Ltd.

Zirconia refractory chemical analysis method
Part 2. Determination of zirconia (铪) by EDTA volumetric method
1 Scope
This section specifies the method for determining the amount of zirconia (铪) by the EDTA volumetric method.
This section applies to the determination of the amount of zirconia (yttrium) in zirconia refractories. The measurement range (mass fraction) is 50.00% to 95.00%.

3 Principle
The sample is melted with a sodium carbonate-boric acid mixed flux, dilute with hydrochloric acid, zirconium is introduced into the solution as zirconium oxychloride, and xylenol orange is used as an indicator.
From 1.0mol/L to 1.2mol/L hydrochloric acid, at the near boiling temperature, titrate with EDTA standard titration solution until the test solution changes from purple to stable
The fixed yellow is the end point.
4 reagents
4.1 Mixing flux. Take 2 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate and 1 part of boric acid, and mix.
4.2 Hydrochloric acid (ρ 1.19 g/mL).
4.3 Zirconium oxide reference solution (0.01mol/L). 0.3081g was weighed and burned at 1000°C~1100°C for 1h and dried in a desiccator.
Zirconium oxide (99.99%) cooled to room temperature, equally divided into 3 platinum crucibles containing 4 g of mixed flux (4.1), mixed, and covered with 1 g
Mix the flux (4.1), cover the lid and leave a gap, place it in a high temperature furnace at 800 °C ~ 900 °C, gradually increase the temperature to 1000 °C ~ 1100 °C,
After melting for 30 minutes, it was taken out, and the crucible was rotated to uniformly adhere the melt to the inner wall of the crucible and cooled. Put 3 oysters in turn to boil
In a 250 mL beaker of 25 mL of hydrochloric acid (4.2) and 50 mL of water, the molten material was heated to leaching to clear the solution, and the crucible and the lid were washed with water and cooled to
At room temperature, transfer to a 250 mL volumetric flask (5.3), dilute to the mark with water, and shake well.
4.4 EDTA standard titration solution [犮 (EDTA) = 0.015 mol/L].
4.4.1 Preparation.
Weigh 5.58g EDTA (disodium edetate) in a 250mL beaker, stir with water and dissolve it (slightly heated if necessary)
Dilute to 1000 mL with water and mix.
4.4.2 Calibration.
