1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, structural types and basic parameters, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage of pay-off reel mandrel and tension reel mandrel for metal strip. This standard applies to the manufacture of pay-off reel mandrel and tension reel mandrel for metal strip; other similar reel mandrels may also be used as a reference.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Pay-off reel Receives the strip coil from the upper winding equipment and unwinds it by expanding and rotating the reel mandrel. 3.2 Tension reel An equipment, which is located at the unit's outlet and winds the finished strip into a coil using a winding aid or its own jaws by expanding and rotating the mandrel.

4 Structural types and basic parameters

4.1 Structural types 4.1.1 The main structural types of pay-off reel mandrels are shown in Table 1. 4.1.2 The main structural types of tension reel mandrels are shown in Table 2. negotiation between the supplier and the buyer.

5 Technical requirements

5.1 Main component materials 5.1.1 Hollow shafts and pyramid shafts are generally made of 42CrMo, 40CrNiMo, 30Cr2Ni2Mo, 50CrMo. 5.1.2 Pyramid sleeves are generally made of QT500-7, QT600-3, ZG310-570, ZG35CrMo, ZG42CrMo. 5.1.3 Segments generally use ZG310-570, ZG35CrMo, ZG42CrMo, 42CrMo, 40CrNiMo, 22Cr12NiWMoV. 5.1.4 Grippers generally use 38CrMoAl or 40CrNiMo. 5.1.5 Tension rods generally use 42CrMo or 40Cr. 5.1.6 Closing wedges generally use 42CrMo or 40CrNiMo. 5.1.7 Expansion wedges generally use ZCuAl9Fe4Ni4Mn2, ZCuAl10Fe3Mn2, 42CrMo (matrix material). 5.1.8 Skate plates generally use ZCuAl9Fe4Ni4Mn2, ZCuAl10Fe3Mn2, ZCuSn10Zn2. 5.1.9 Wedges are generally made of ZCuAl9Fe4Ni4Mn2, ZCuAl10Fe3Mn2, 42CrMo (matrix material). 5.1.10 Connecting rods are generally made of 30Cr13, 35CrMo, 42CrMo. 5.1.11 Extension shafts are generally made of 45, 42CrMo, 50CrMo, 40CrNiMo. 5.2 General technical requirements for materials 5.2.1 Forged steel (stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, alloy structural steel) 5.2.1.1 The chemical composition shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 1220, GB/T 1221, GB/T 3077, JB/T 6396. 5.2.1.2 The permissible deviation of the chemical composition of the finished steel shall conform to the provisions of JB/T 5000.8. 5.2.1.3 The mechanical properties shall conform to the provisions of GB/T 1220, GB/T 1221, GB/T 3077, JB/T 6396. 5.2.2 Cast steel 5.2.2.1 The chemical composition of cast steel shall conform to the provisions of JB/T 5000.6. 5.2.2.2 The mechanical properties of alloy cast steel parts after final heat treatment shall conform to the requirements of JB/T 5000.6. 5.2.3 Ductile iron 5.2.3.1 The mechanical properties of single-cast specimens shall conform to the requirements of GB/T 1348. 5.2.3.2 When using ductile iron, the graphite size shall not be lower than grade 4 ~ 6 of GB/T 9441-2009; the spheroidization grade shall not be lower than grade 2 ~ 3. 5.2.4 Copper alloys 5.2.4.1 The chemical composition shall conform to the requirements of GB/T 1176. 5.2.4.2 The mechanical properties shall conform to the requirements of GB/T 1176. 5.3 Technical requirements for main parts blank materials 5.3.1 Castings 5.3.1.1 Cast iron parts shall conform to the requirements of JB/T 5000.4. 5.3.1.2 Cast steel parts shall conform to the requirements of JB/T 5000.6. 5.3.1.3 The portions marked on the drawings shall undergo non-destructive testing; the quality grade shall not be lower than Grade 2 as specified in JB/T 5000.14-2007. 5.3.1.4 Welding repairs on cast steel parts shall conform to the requirements of JB/T 5000.7. 5.3.1.5 Dimensional tolerances and machining allowances of castings shall conform to the requirements of GB/T 6414. 5.3.2 Forged steel parts 5.3.2.1 Forgings shall conform to the requirements of JB/T 5000.8. 5.3.2.2 Sampling shall be taken from a sufficiently long section at one end of the riser of the steel ingot; the sampling location shall be in accordance with JB/T 5000.8. 5.3.2.3 Ultrasonic testing of hollow shaft, segment, pyramid shaft, extension shaft forgings shall comply with Grade II requirements of JB/T 5000.15-2007. 5.3.2.4 During machining, if defects such as porosity, sand holes, slag inclusions, cracks are found in forgings, repairs are permitted according to the relevant provisions of JB/T 5000.8, provided that the strength and performance of the parts are not reduced. 5.3.3 Welded parts 5.3.3.1 Welded parts shall comply with the requirements of JB/T 5000.3. 5.3.3.2 When depositing copper layers on carbon steel or low alloy steel surfaces, it shall meet the requirements of GB/T 13147; the weld layer material shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 9460. 5.4 Heat treatment and surface treatment of main parts 5.4.1 Artificial aging treatment shall be performed before machining. For long, thin segments, the number of aging treatments shall be increased. 5.4.2 Rough machining shall be performed before tempering. For parts with a cross- sectional thickness greater than 100 mm and internal holes, drilling shall be performed before tempering; all sharp angles shall be blunted. 5.4.3 After tempering, the hardness difference shall be less than 40 HBW. 5.4.4 Before gas nitriding, slender, thin-walled, complex parts shall undergo one or more stress relief treatments. 5.4.5 The surface roughness Ra of the main working surfaces of nitrided parts shall be ≤ 1.6 µm; there shall be no defects such as roughening, dents, or rust. Non-nitrided surfaces such as screw holes shall be protected. 5.4.6 For surfaces treated with gas nitriding, the surface hardness of the finished product shall not be less than 550 HV; the non-uniformity is less than 30 HV; the hard layer thickness is not less than 0.4 mm; the brittleness of the nitrided layer grade is 1 ~ 2.The axial and circumferential deformation of the finished product shall be less than the tolerance allowance. 5.4.7 When hard chrome plating is required on the outer arc surface of the segment, the surface hardness shall be 65 HRC ~ 70 HRC; the plating thickness is generally 0.05 mm ~ 0.15 mm. 5.5 Machining of main parts 5.5.1 General requirements The machined surfaces of parts shall be free from scratches, dents, and other defects that damage the surface, affect performance, or reduce strength and lifespan. 5.5.2 Hollow shafts and pyramid shafts 5.5.2.1 Hollow shafts and forgings applicable to the mandrels of wedge-connecting rod ......
