5 Biosafety requirements
The "List of Pathogenic Microorganisms Infected by Humans" issued by the Health and Family Planning Commission of the People's Republic of China stipulates that the Maya virus is not cultivated.
The handling of infectious and inactivated materials should be carried out at different levels of biosafety laboratories. details as follows.
--- Operation of Maya virus-associated infectious materials should be performed in Bio-Annual (BSL-2 or ABSL-2) laboratories;
--- Maya virus-related inactivation materials are carried out in the Biosafety Level 1 (BSL-1) laboratory;
--- Maya virus infectious material transport packaging is classified as Class B, UN number is UN3373.
