3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard. The groove shape and dimensions are shown in Figure 1.
3.1
Groove
The cross-sectional shape of the groove. It can be mainly divided into rectangular grooves, ladder rectangular grooves and trapezoidal grooves.
3.2
Ditch depth
The vertical distance from the surface of the original surface to the bottom surface of the groove.
3.3
Ditch depth stability
The degree of stability of the trenching depth when the trencher is operated under given operating conditions is expressed by the stability coefficient U of the trenching depth.
3.4
Groove width
The lateral distance between the upper surface of the two trench walls and the intersection of the in-situ surface.
3.5
Bottom width
The lateral distance between the lower edge of the two trench walls and the intersection of the bottom surface of the trench.
3.6
Ditch straightness
The degree to which the groove shape maintains linearity.
3.7
Bottom soil thickness
The average thickness of various shredded soils accumulated on the bottom surface of the ditch.
3.8
Kneading width
The lateral distance between the upper and lower walls of the adjacent two grooves on the crotch.
3.9
Face width consistency
The degree to which the width of the kneading surface is consistent is expressed by the calculated stability factor.
