| Summary | This standard specifies the normal working conditions, installation conditions, structure, performance requirements, test methods and inspection rules of marine low-voltage contactors and AC motor starters. This standard applies to low-voltage contactors and AC motor starters for ships in non-explosive and hazardous gas environments with AC voltage of 1 000V or DC voltage of 1 500V and below in the main circuit. This standard does not apply to the following contactors and starters: star-delta starters, rotor varistor starters and auto decompression starters for special purposes and continuous operation in the starting position; unbalanced rotor varistor starters , that is, the resistance value of each phase is different; starters not only for starting but also for speed regulation; liquid starters and "liquid-gas" starters; semiconductor contactors and semiconductor contactors used in the main circuit |
