Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 8729-1988 "Foundry Coke". Compared with GB/T 8729-1988, the main technical content changes.
as follows.
--- Modified normative references (see Chapter 2);
--- Change the special grade to excellent grade (see Chapter 3);
---Modified "Block Size" to "Granularity"; change the size of >80mm, 80mm ~60mm, and >60mm to >120mm, respectively
120mm~80mm, 80mm~60mm (see Chapter 3);
--- Modify the index of crush strength, change the grade from ≥ 85.0 to ≥ 87.0; grade 1 from ≥ 81.0 to ≥ 83.0; grade 2 from ≥ 77.0

1 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, transportation and quality certificates for foundry coke.
This standard applies to coke used for cupola smelting.

3 Technical requirements
3.1 The technical indicators of foundry coke should meet the requirements of Table 1.

3.2 The intensity indicators M40 and SI504 can be used as options. When the values of these two indicators are inconsistent, the M40 value is used.
3.3 Moisture (%), volatile matter (%), apparent porosity (%), and pulverization rate (%) are not considered as quality acceptance indicators.
3.4 When there is special demand, the supply and demand sides shall negotiate and settle the matter.
