1 Scope
This part of GB/T 7717 specifies the spectrophotometric method and gas phase for the determination of p-hydroxyanisole (MEHQ) in acrylonitrile for industrial use.
Chromatography, repeatability, quality assurance and control, test reports.
This part of the spectrophotometric method is applicable to industries where the content of p-hydroxyanisole is not less than 5mg/kg and the color degree conforms to the requirements of GB/T 7717.1.
Determination of acrylonitrile; This part of gas chromatography is suitable for industrial use with p-hydroxy anisole content in the range of 1 mg/kg to 100 mg/kg.
Determination of acrylonitrile.
Note. When using spectrophotometric method, impurities absorbed at 295nm all interfere with the determination. Experience shows that it may produce in acrylonitrile that exceeds storage guarantee period.
Absorbed impurities are generated at this wavelength.

3 Spectrophotometry
3.1 Principle
The absorbance of p-hydroxyanisole in the sample was measured directly at 295 nm using an ultraviolet spectrophotometer, and the hydroxyl was determined on the basis of a standard curve.

3.2 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise stated, the reagents used were all analytically pure and the water used complied with the tertiary water specification specified in GB/T 6682.
3.2.1 p-hydroxyanisole. purity not less than 99% (mass fraction).
3.2.2 Sodium hydroxide solution. 4% (mass fraction) of aqueous solution.
3.2.3 Acrylonitrile without p-hydroxyanisole. Into a 500-mL separatory funnel, inject 100 mL of acrylonitrile and.200 mL of sodium hydroxide solution.
The liquid (3.2.2) is shaken, the aqueous layer is removed, and the acrylonitrile layer is retained. Take another acrylonitrile, repeat the above extraction process, collect about 500mL of propylene
Nitrile. The treated acrylonitrile is then distilled to collect a middle distillate having a boiling point of 75.5°C to 79.5°C.
