1 Scope

This document specifies the material requirements, chemical safety requirements, flammability requirements, mechanical and physical performance requirements, and standards for infant and toddler safety gates. The document includes knowledge and instructions for use, describing the corresponding testing methods. This document applies to infant safety rails used indoors for infants and toddlers under 24 months of age (typically under 930mm in height), including... Toddler safety gates and infant safety fences. This document does not apply to playpens or safety railings installed next to beds or windows. Note. The term "infant safety gate" mentioned in this document refers to both infant safety gates and infant safety fences.
