1 Scope

This document specifies the equipment and method for determining the long-term water absorption of thermal insulation materials by the diffusion method. The water absorption capacity of materials. These materials not only withstand close to 100% relative humidity on both sides for a long time during use, but also have Water vapour pressure gradients, such as on pitched roofs or unprotected floor insulation. 4 Principle

The diffusion method for determining long-term water absorption is to subject the sample to a specific water vapor pressure difference and temperature gradient between its upper and lower surfaces over a period of 28 days.
