Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 4241-2017 "Stainless Steel Wire Rods for Welding". Compared with GB/T 4241-2017, the main differences are in structural adjustments and formatting.
Aside from the logical changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) Terms and definitions have been changed (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the.2017 edition);
b) The delivery status has been changed (see 6.2, 6.3 in the.2017 edition);
c) Modified H08Cr23Ni9N, H022Cr22Mn5Ni2N, H022Cr24Ni8N, H022Cr25Ni10Mo4N, H022Cr19NbSi,
d) The chemical composition ranges for some grades have been changed (see Tables 1 and 3,.2017 editions of Tables 1 and 3);
e) The provisions allowing delivery based on chemical composition (smelting analysis) have been amended (see 7.1, 6.1 of the.2017 edition);
f) The requirement for special requirement inspection items to be tested only when requested by the purchaser has been changed (see Table 7, Table 7 in the.2017 edition);
g) Added rules for rounding numerical values (see 9.5);
h) The table comparing the grades in this standard with those in the original standard has been removed (see Appendix A of the.2017 edition).

3.Terms and Definitions
This document does not contain any terms or definitions that need to be defined.
4.Classification and Brand
Wire rods are classified according to their microstructure into austenitic, austenitic-ferrite (duplex), martensitic, ferrite, and precipitation-hardening types, with different grades.
See Tables 1 through 5.
5.Order details
Contracts or orders placed in accordance with this document should include the following.
a) This document number;
b) Brand name;
c) Specifications;
d) Weight;
e) Dimensions and accuracy level;
f) Delivery status;
g) Smelting methods;
h) Other special requirements.
6.Manufacturing process
6.1 Smelting Method
Steel should be smelted using a converter or electric furnace with ladle refining, or alternatively, electroslag remelting. Specific requirements should be specified in the contract.
Unless otherwise specified, the supplier shall make the selection.
6.2 Delivery Status
Martensitic steel wire rods should be delivered in annealed and pickled condition, while other steel wire rods should be delivered in hot-rolled and pickled or solution-pickled condition. (This is agreed upon by both the supplier and the buyer.)
The parties negotiated and specified in the contract that the wire rod could be delivered in other conditions.
7 Technical Requirements
7.1 Grade and Chemical Composition
The steel grade and chemical composition (finished product analysis) should conform to the specifications in Tables 1 to 5.This should be agreed upon by both the supplier and the buyer, and specified in the contract.
Delivery can be made based on chemical composition (melting analysis). See Appendix A for a comparison of this document with foreign grades.
