1 Scope
This document specifies the quality assurance regulations, technical requirements, and test methods for stainless steel solid rivets used in aerospace (hereinafter referred to as "rivets").
Law, test report and certificate requirements.
This document is applicable to the design, manufacture, procurement and acceptance of stainless steel solid rivets for aerospace.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
batch
It consists of rivets of the same type, the same diameter and length, the same furnace number material, the same process and heat treatment in the same furnace.
3.2
Rivet wire sample rivetwiresample
A wire sample with a certain length cut from one end of the wire required for the production of rivets.
3.3
Rivet sample rivetsample
A sample taken at random from a batch of rivets.
3.4

A well-defined fracture along a metal grain boundary or across grains.
3.5
hairline seam
Axially open surface imperfections.
3.6
folding lap
Surface defects formed by sharp metal corners or chips being squeezed into the fastener surface during machining.
