3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Prescribed scope of work
The specified allowable ship position deviates from a certain set point.
3.2
Prescribed environmental conditions
With the specified wind speed, current and wave height, the ship can perform the expected operation under such environmental conditions.
3.3
Dynamic positioning
With automatic and (or) manual control, the ship can maintain its operation within the specified operating range and specified environmental conditions during its operation.
Ship position and/or heading.
3.4
Dynamic positioning ship
With automatic and (or) manual control, a ship that can maintain its position and (or) heading under specified operating ranges and specified environmental conditions.
3.5
Ship position keeping
Maintain the predetermined ship position, heading and track under the normal operating range and environmental conditions of the control system.
