| Summary | This standard specifies the method for determining the fabric sample with a double slit tongue tear strength of law. Tear strength of the fabric measured in the direction from the initial tear notch to a predetermined gap length double the force required. This section applies to woven fabrics, fabric can also be applied in other manufacturing technical methods, such as non-woven cloth. This section does not apply to knitted fabric, woven elastic fabric. This section provides the use of constant elongation (CRE) tester. |

Foreword
GB/T 3917 "Tear properties of fabrics Textiles" is divided into the following five sections.
--- Part 1. Ballistic pendulum method Determination of tear force;
--- Part 2. Pants shaped test specimens (single slit) Determination of tear force;
--- Part 3. Determination of tear force of trapezoidal shaped test specimens;
--- Part 4. tongue shaped test specimens (double seam) Determination of tear force;
--- Part 5. Sample wing (single slit) Determination of tear force.
This section GB/T 43917 Part of.
This part identical with ISO 13937-4.2000 "Textiles Tear properties of fabrics - Part 4. tongue shaped test specimens (double seam) tear strength
Determination "(in English).
There are differences compared to 2000 are as follows. ISO 13937-4 and this part.
--- Deleted international standards preface, table of contents and introduction;
--- Deleted Chapter 1 Note;
--- Normative reference document replaces the corresponding international standards set by our standards;
--- Added Figure B. 1 and C. 1 Figure caption.
This Part replaces GB/T 3917.2-1997 "Textiles Tear properties of fabrics - Part 2. tongue shaped test specimens Determination of tear force"
The double tongue method. This portion of the GB/T 3917.2-1997 major differences double tongue method is as follows.
--- Normative references increased standard equipment debugging;
--- 3.2 adds the note added that the test effectively holding the line;
--- Increased 3.3 Note;
--- Increased by 3.4 injection, indicating effective peak selection method;
--- Increasing the specific criteria of the instrument commissioning 6.1 General;
--- 8.1 adds the note added that representation of the sample direction;
--- Increase the paper feed rate and the rate of the instrument stretch ratio of 9.4 in the recording sheet is 2.1 and abnormal test events
description;
--- 10.1.1 made to editorial changes and removes Note 2;
--- Increased computing 10.1.5 Each sample 6 maximum peak average;
--- Appendix C increases the peak approximate calculation method selected;
--- Remove the original Appendix D.
This part of the Annex A, Annex B, Annex C is informative appendix.

Determination
1 Scope
GB/T 3917 This section specifies the method for the determination of fabric with double tongue-shaped slit tear strength of Specimen. In the direction of tear strength
Tearing the fabric was measured from the initial incision slit to a predetermined length double the force required.
This section applies to woven fabric, is also applicable to other technical method of making fabrics, non-woven cloth.
This section does not apply to knitted, woven elastic fabric.
This section provides the use of constant elongation (CRE) tester.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply GB/T 3917 of this section.
3.1
Throughout the course of the experiment, a clamp is stationary and the other jaw for isokinetic exercise a tensile tester.
3.2
Distance means effective to hold the wire between two tests.
Note. The sample specimens and carbon paper may be applied to pre-tension measured by simultaneously holding the line holding effective chuck.
3.3
Under specified conditions, so that the desired expansion of the sample from the initial incision force.
NOTE. The yarns are torn called "warp tear strength," weft torn off called "zonal tear strength."
3.4
In force - elongation curve on the slope changes from positive to strongly negative value corresponding to the point.
Note. The rise and fall of force peak force value is used to calculate the value of both ends or at least after a revaluation of 10% on the peak before a peak value decline.
