Trans anethole
1 Scope
This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, storage, and shelf life of trans-Anethole.
This standard is applicable to the analysis and evaluation of the quality of trans-anethole obtained from star anise oil through efficient fractionation.

4.1 Appearance. white to light yellow solidified body or colorless to light yellow liquid.
4.2 Aroma. It has anise-like aroma.
4.3 Relative density (25℃/25℃). 0.998~0.988.
4.4 Refractive index (25℃). 1.5570~1.5620.
4.5 Solubility (25°C). 1mL or 1g sample is completely dissolved in 3mL 90% (volume fraction) ethanol.
4.6 Content (GC). ≥99.0%.
5 Test method
5.1 Verification of color
Place the sample on a clean white paper or in a colorimetric tube and observe by visual inspection.
