Design requirements for offshore platform cranes in ice conditions
1 Scope
This standard stipulates the design parameters, loads and materials selection of offshore platform cranes (hereinafter referred to as ice area cranes) operating in the ice zone environment.
Design requirements for selection, main structure, power, mechanism, electrical control, safety, protection systems, wire ropes, and removable parts.
This standard is applicable to the design of offshore platform cranes with design service temperatures below -20 °C in ice conditions.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 6974.1 and below apply to this document.
3.1
Ice area icecondition
Due to the low temperature effect of the atmospheric environment, the sea surface produces ice floes.
3.2
Offshore platform crane offshorecrane
A crane mounted on an offshore platform for lifting cargo and personnel.
3.3
Design service temperature designservicetemperature
Designed as a temperature metric for the platform to measure the performance of materials, equipment, and systems in low-temperature environments.
3.4
Cabin service temperature cabinservicetemperature
Designed to be a temperature indicator defined by the hydraulic power system storage space and personnel operating room that are not exposed to low temperature environments.
3.5
Expected minimum ambient temperature meananticipatetemperature
The lowest ambient temperature that may be encountered during the voyage of the ship during its proposed navigational area.
4 design parameters
4.1 Design service temperature
The design service temperature is determined according to the purpose of the platform and the service conditions, and is generally lower than the planned platform operation area and the minimum day of the season.
The average low temperature (LMDLT) is at least 10 °C.
