3 Measurement conditions and instruments
3.1 Measurement conditions
3.1.1 Test condition parameters
3.1.1.1 For naturally aspirated and supercharged diesel engines, the test condition parameters fa are calculated according to equation (1); for cold air with or without intake air
However, the turbocharged engine has a test condition parameter fa calculated according to equation (2). The dry atmospheric pressure pS in the formula is calculated according to the formula (3).

In the formula.
Fa---test condition parameters of diesel engine;
pS---dry atmospheric pressure in kilopascals (kPa);
Ta---the absolute temperature of the inhaled air in Kelvin (K);
pB---total pressure in kilopascals (kPa);
Pa---the saturated vapor pressure of the inhaled air in kilopascals (kPa);
Ra---relative humidity of inhaled air, %.
3.1.1.2 Determination of test validity
The test condition parameters should satisfy 0.93 ≤ fa ≤ 1.07.
3.1.2 Test diesel engine requirements
3.1.2.1 The diesel engine intake resistance of the test shall be controlled within ±300 Pa of the full load specified by the manufacturer, if the diesel engine has been equipped
An integrated air intake system should be used for testing.
